We have 277 responses on our survey (the question was added recently), but the ratio would probably be the same haha xP

Most interesting stat.....

A little A.D.D. here but might I just point out that with oculus rift releasing Q1 2016, I couldn't help but also look at the recently announced Oculus Touch. THe Oculus Touch would make the SAO experience SOOOOOO INCREADIBLE! Almost real. Sure I work at Walmart and don't have oodles of money lying around but I would buy all the gear just to make SAO seem that awesome. Might SAO support the upcoming Oculus touch?

Now that I think about it, you're right. The touch can do about all the controls you need since it is location based, has two joystics, 4 buttons, and 2 triggers. It can definitely handle all the controls necessary. Since you can move your hand to do all the hand motions for the in-game menu

but what about movement, would that be a problem, will the touch be able to do that, i've seen them but i haven't super looked into it.

nevermind, the touch has joysticks, honestly that would be awesome if compatibility could be done.

While I agree that it would be cool I don't think it's on the top of the dev list. I mean if it's only being released next year that means they can only start thinking about it next year. Let's just get basic keyboard and mouse controls down first.

And while I agree as well that default computer controls should be decided first, this could be a problem. You need to satisfy 3 different types of controls due to the type of game-play that the developers are trying to build.

1. View - You need to change where you're looking at

You could use a mouse since it's only natural

2. Directional Movement - duh

The WASD interface is natural on this one

3. Self Directed Attacks - YOU decide how you strike, Not some pre-programmed game system, as this is what makes the "art" of sword fighting.

...... I'm drawing a blank on how to do this one..... maybe hold the left mouse button and it changes the mouse from controlling view to controlling the attack?

possibly do that but if your duel wielding it may be more truoble, possibly a keybind like holding q or something would work better.

If you are dual wielding, I don't see how a keybind would do better. because you're limited to ONE mouse. Mind you dual sword wielding would be only for the one lucky player who gets it. The most common dual wielding would be a shield which I'm not sure that it would need that many controls. Tho the number pad may be an option for something.....

I think it wouldn't be too hard to do.

My idea would be that when you CLICK and HOLD LMB then move your mouse, depending on the direction you go would be the direction you swing and the same goes for the RMB with a shield or dual wielding.

My SAO Suggestions

Some suggestions i have:
Arrow  Arrow  Arrow
Orange and Red players

Orange players Exclamation

They will achieve this by committing crimes, such as stealing, harming players or even killing them.

Red players Exclamation

These players will be able to achieve this if they kill a player.

Skills(Kirito)
Kirito was able to unlock a rare skill know as dual wielding by having the fastest reaction time maybe this can be achieved by passing a certain number in states which would also suggest you start out with one handed weapons. affraid

Dodging
You should be able to dodge anything in any movement possible i don't know the full extent of the abilities but there should be attack lines brought over from GGO(Gun Gale Online) like gun lines except attack lines from weapon slashes.

Durability
Clothing
What would make a change if you saw stains and cuts from battle over time.

Weapons
Your sword should be able to be broken by a stronger sword in combat example of Kirito's sword against Heathcliff where his sword is broken by Heathcliff's shield ignore the fact Heathcliff was Kayaba Akihiko the GM.

Voice Chat(Maybe/Optional for players)
This should he a thing and could make it so that the mouth of your character moves along with the talking like GTA 5.

Shops
You could have your own shop to sell items you made e.t.c like Agil and Lisbeth.

Follow sense
lol!  funny thing to call it where Kirito had to look for Sachi, he went into the GUI and activated the follow.

Guilds
There should be only the guilds from the anime if that is allowed i don't know of that would work with the copyright Question  if it does then i guess you can allow custom guilds.

I don't like the mouse idea, it has been suggested many times, the problem with it is the camera.

--Mouse control Camera
--Camera point at your enemy, where you hit.
--Pressing LMB (left mouse button) change control from Camera to Sword.
--Can't move camera.. camera is locked on the target.
--Player only have control on attack/block/dodge/move.... Cannot look.
--The game does the aiming for the player..
--When Player release LMB, control switched back to Camera.
--There's a small delay before he stops the mouse. Velocity of the mouse following the sword attack create clunky camera movement.
--Just imagine your camera bouncing everywhere when you're in a stressful and critical fight; when you gotta response fast after each move.

We have a combat system concept that includes directional attacks, directional parry, dodge, move, aim. All of that only using very few and basic key binding.
Tho I won't tell about details until we implement it in-game.

I don't see how you could do it any way other than keybinding, so maybe there should just be a lot of different key binds? This might also reinforce the whole players skill not characters skills type idea

I have a question. In the second season Kirito found a way to duel wield without the skill by using two different sword skills one after the other. Will such a fear be possible? To use a right hand sword skill, then a left?
