ingame kirito, asuna, ext.

I read a post somewhere and you was saying you don't know where you planned to employment the main cast into the game but here is one small idea. Make them be high level quests givers spread throughout the game and rewards can even be some of the weapons you see them using in the show.
But I think the quests should be pretty difficult since everyone will want kirito's and asuna's swords and you got to be careful not to make a quest item that everyone can get overpowered or the game will become unbalanced fast

They will may be included as NPC's (for example Lisbeth as a blacksmith or Agil as a merchant) but I can't say for sure.
Also making them quest-givers is a pretty good idea I think.
As for their armor and weapons... Elucidator is a rare drop from 50th Floor Boss, idk about others... Kirito's coat is waved by master sythweaver Ashley.

We are considering it, but we also have to keep in mind the possible copyright infringements as well.

To avoid copyright infringement ALL the names would have to be different. Even things such as town or weapon names would have to be altered in some way. So the 'Starting Town/Town of Beginnings' would have to be something like 'Town of Origins'.

You don't need copyright rights/permission to make games. But all you would need to do is alter names, add features that aren't normally there, and change up some scenery.

I think that if you will add Kirito/Asuna etc. they should be NPC or Gamemaster's/Admin's characters, but part of their equipment (for example swords) should be given to players in hard quest
